How to Import Your Dialing List (Solution)

In the JadeSP service, a list of dialing records to be called is referred to as a solution.  Solutions  must be created and started in a specific order. 

1. Create or import the list (solution) see below.
2. Upload the lis (solution) t to the JadeSP server. (see “How to FTP Your Dialing List.”)
3. Start the solution . No agents can log into a solution  until it has been started by a supervisor. (see "How)
4. Stop the solution . Note that when a solution  is stopped, any agents logged into that solution  will be “kicked out” of the system and automatically logged off at the the completion of their next call ( they will not be logged off while on a call. )

How to Import Your Dialing List(Solution)

1)   Launch Microsoft  Access 2000 and open the Template.mdb database.  Please download this template from the our website at www.jadesp.com, under support and dowloads.

2)    From the menu, click File, Get External Data, Import.

 3)   In the Import dialog that appears, select the type of file you wish to import from the “Files of Type” drop-down list. 

     Note* In this example we will import a text file.

42)   Selecting your file to import will bring up the “Import Text Wizard” as shown below.

4)  The wizard will walk you through the import process.  Be sure to designate that you will store your data in a new table on the 3rd step of the wizard. 

5)  Now that we have completed the import process, the next steps involve getting the data from the new table into the tblDialing table.

6)  Open the new table that contains the imported data and resize the window so that 2 or 3 records are shown.  This will provide you with a reference for identifying which columns we want to bring over to the tblDialing table.  In the example below we can see that “Field2” is the First Name, “Field3” is the Middle Initial, etc.

7)  Create a new query in design view and add the new imported table to the query.  The new query should appear similar to that shown below.

 8)  From the Query menu, select “Append Query”.  Then choose the tblDialing table from the list box. Make sure Current database is checked.

 9)   With the new query positioned below the opened table (step 5), select the appropriate field from the “Append To” drop-down.

 10)  The final step is to choose "Run" from the Query menu. Make sure after you do this go to Tools menu, go to Database Utilities, and click on "Compact and Repair Database".  This compacts the database down to a smaller size for uploading.

  Note* Do not append to the “ID” field.  This field will be filled automatically when the query runs.  Does not matter if the numbers are not in order  or are different.

11)  You have now successfully imported your dialing list to a .mdb format that our dialer can use.   You will now need to ftp this file to the JadeSP server. .  (for help with this, see the "How to FTP Your Dialing List" help file.)
